The Scholastic Art Awards is the nation’s largest, longest-running, and most prestigious recognition program in the visual arts for creative teenagers. Nationally, almost 200,000 students accept the challenge to go beyond classroom assignments and create innovative works for a chance to receive national recognition and scholarship opportunities. At the local level, award-winning artwork is celebrated at the Lancaster Museum of Art.

The Power of Collaboration: A free teen workshop demonstrating the power of a collaborative partnership between writers and artists

Register now for the free teen workshop demonstrating the power of a collaborative partnership between writers and artists.  Literary and artistic students will work hands-on with workshop guest speaker, Eric Thiegs, President and CEO of StageofLife.com.  Mr. Thiegs will share his personal and business experiences in launching a blogging and writing initiative that collaborated with an artist to create the original artwork and branding for their nationally recognized website.  The workshop will include a walk-through on writing a story/concept brief, story-boarding, and final literary and artistic combination.  This workshop will give a real-world example in how teen writers and artists can plan for a future to impact the lives of others AND make a living for themselves in and after college using their literary and artist talents.
