Jeff Geib has taken on the unprecedented challenge of creating charcoal drawings on the walls of the interior of the Lancaster Museum of Art. This superb draughtsman will create extra-large scale installation drawings of traditional vanitas subjects. Geib will also host charcoal drawing workshops for children and adults during this exhibition.
This exhibition is sponsored by Thomas Hills Cook.
Regular Hours: Tues-Sat 10-4 | Sunday noon-4
The original Sunnyside Mural is installed at the Demuth Museum in its entirety after recent conservation. This mural was created in 1930 by a group of artists and friends including Charles Demuth and tells a story of a young couple traveling through Lancaster County with clever uses of double entendre and whimsy. This exhibition explores relationships between the written word and visual art, as well as an explanatory section on the conservation of this special addition to the museum’s collection.
The donation, removal, conservation and exhibition are sponsored by: Warren and Sandra Posey and other Sunnyside Farm owners, the Steinman Foundation and an anonymous local sponsor.
Regular Hours: Tues-Sat 10-4 | Sunday 1-4
