48th ANNUAL COMMUNITY ART EXHIBITION (formerly Open Art Awards)
June 4 - July 25, 2010
Opening reception Friday, June 4, 5-8 p.m.

The Lancaster Museum of Art and Lancaster Summer Arts Festival present the 48th Annual Community Art Exhibition. The exhibition features a diverse presentation of visual art created by artists living and working in Lancaster County. As entry is open, the exhibition contains works varying greatly in medium and style.

Critic, educator, and artist Libby Rosof is this year’s juror for the exhibition. She co-founded theartblog.org in 2003 to cover underreported art exhibitions and artists in Philadelphia. Rosof has taught at Tyler School of Art and at Temple University's Department of Journalism. She has received numerous awards including an honorary doctorate of fine arts from Moore College of Art and Design in 2008. In March 2010 Rosof was honored at the Southern Graphics Conference.

Rosof will select First, Second, and Third Place Awards, along with Honorable Mentions. There will also be a People’s Choice Award, determined by visitors’ votes and awarded at the exhibition’s conclusion.

The Lancaster Museum of Art will publish a catalogue available to visitors containing the juror’s statement and a list of participating artists. The exhibition is sponsored by Ellen Arnold Groff.
