Opening Reception: Sunday, February 11, 1:30pm - 5pm
The Lancaster Museum of Art & Mulberry Art Studios will host the 2007 Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition
February 11-25. This year will mark the 44th Anniversary of the Lancaster County program.
Works by Gold and Silver Key Award winners will be on display at the Lancaster Museum of Art, 135 North Lime Street and Honorable Mentions and Portfolios will be on display at Mulberry Art Studios, 21 North Mulberry Street. A reception for the artists and the public will be held at both locations on Sunday, February 11 from 1:30-5 pm.
This exhibit provides an opportunity for young people to gain recognition and compete for scholarship funds.
Maurice R. Robinson, founder of Scholastic Magazine, began Scholastic Art Awards in 1923.
The regional exhibition was initiated in 1963 through the efforts of the late Ms. Pauline Stauffer.
The Lancaster County Regional Exhibition is sponsored by Wachovia Foundation with additional support
from Sandra Fruitman Memorial Fund, Pauline Stauffer Estate, Echo Valley Art Group,
The James Hale Steinman Foundation and Stauffers of Kissel Hill.
The exhibitions national sponsor is The Alliance for Young Artists and Writers.
Lancaster Museum of Art Hours for this exhibit are
Monday-Friday 10 am to 5 pm, Saturday 10 am-4 pm and Sunday Noon-4 pm
Mulberry Art Studios hours are Monday-Saturday 10 am-5 pm, Sunday Noon-5 pm
The Museums First Floor Galleries are handicapped accessible.
Admission is FREE.
